Dr. Kiella came to Traverse City in 1980 after graduating from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. He purchased the Optometry practice that Dr. Ken Tinker had established in the early 1930’s.
Dr. Kiella completed his undergraduate studies at Western Michigan University and Ferris State University with honors. He is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the Michigan Optometric Association.

In 1986 he was accepted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Kiella enjoys all areas of primary care Optometry including diseases of the eye, refraction, contact lenses and children’s vision. Dr. Kiella and his wife Mary reside in Traverse City and have three grown children. In his spare time he enjoys playing squash, softball and working in the yard.
